In a generous gesture of goodwill, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), in partnership with Dawood Global Foundation, has successfully distributed 540 wheelchairs to 27 hospitals across Interior Sindh, Pakistan. The heartwarming event took place on othersday, in Hyderabad, Sindh, and was attended by distinguished guests and officials.
The distribution ceremony was hosted by Mr. Jamshed Ali Talpur, Collector Customs Hyderabad, and graced by the esteemed presence of: Ms. Tara Uzra Dawood, President, Dawood Global Foundation Mr. Noman Shakir, Chief Financial Officer, Dawood Global Foundation Ms. Sumbal Wahab, Senior CSR Officer, OGDCL Mr. Barakat Ali Sohu, Senior CSR Officer, OGDCL Dr. Pir Ghullam Hussain, Add: Director General Health Service Sindh Mr. Daud, Deputy Collector Customs Hyderabad Mr. Amjad Lal, Deputy Collector Customs Hyderabad Dr. Faheemuddin Qureshi, Deputy Director PDSRU-1, General Health Services This collaborative effort between OGDCL and Dawood Global Foundation demonstrates their shared commitment to improving the lives of individuals with mobility challenges in Sindh.
The donation of 540 wheelchairs will significantly enhance the accessibility and quality of care for those in need. Through a partnership with DG Health Sindh, the right recipients were able to be identified. Dr. Irshad Ahmed Memon, Director General, Health Service Sindh, stated to DGF President Tara Uzra Dawood and OGDCL Sr. CSR Officer, “God bless for your help for mobility. I’m hoping to receive more from your side.” Ms. Tara Uzra Dawood, President of Dawood Global Foundation, expressed her gratitude for OGDCL’s generous contribution, stating, “We are deeply appreciative of OGDCL’s compassionate gesture, which reflects their commitment to corporate social responsibility. This initiative showcases the positive impact that can be achieved when organizations come together to support vulnerable communities.” She added how much the partnership of DG Health enabled the right recipients and coordination, and how the support of Collector Customs Hyderabad’s hospitality was truly unparalleled.
The wheelchairs donated by OGDCL will play a crucial role in facilitating mobility and independence for individuals facing physical challenges. This contribution aligns with both organizations’ dedication to fostering positive change in society. Ms. Sumbal Wahab, Senior CSR Officer, OGDCL said OGDCL under its corporate social responsibility program believes in upliftment of local communities residing in and around its areas of operations. Distribution of 540 wheelchairs through DGF being the implementing partner for the project is a step in this right direction. Previously OGDCL has contributed in the form of distribution of ambulances, provision of medical equipments and establishment of various medical camps. Mr. Noman Shakir, Chief Financial Officer of Dawood Global Foundation, remarked, “Collaborations like these exemplify the power of partnership in driving social progress.
